Temporary Head Tattoo - A Alopecian's must have!

Updated: Aug 7, 2021

I have a confession to make…ok it’s not really a confession it’s more like a “I’ve always wanted” a tattoo…particularly on my scalp, but of course yours truly is way too scared of pain. I often scroll through Pinterest and see pretty scalp artistry and get tattoo envy, but I can’t bring myself to make such a commitment, and I'd probably drive the tattoo artist nuts. But scrolling through Instagram I came across Scalp Embellishments by Bald Head Bougie and instantly fell in love. They are literally temporary tattoos that take less than a minute to apply. Now I enjoy rocking my wigs, hats, and scarves but now that I’m growing more confident in my alopecia journey, there are days when I just wanna fearlessly rock my bald head and these are the perfect accessory for that vibe. Ok let me stop rambling and get to the nitty gritty.

Product Details

These scalp embellishments are temporary, non-toxic, and waterproof. They are 9.45 x 5.35 inches which is the perfect size for my peanut head lol. I think the toughest thing about this product was trying to decide on which styles to get because they come in 14 elegant options. The colours are just as vibrant in person as they appear on the website, and would complement any skin tone. I should also mention customer service was excellent because you know me, I always have a question about something and when I reached out their response was almost immediate, friendly, and helpful. These are also affordable at $10 USD on sale and from shipment to delivery took no more than a week.

It’s as easy as I show it in the video. You can place it anywhere on the body but of

course it was the scalp for me. I removed the clear plastic sheet, placed the tattoo on the desired area, wet thoroughly with a cloth, waited the 20-30 seconds, and gently peeled the paper back. To note, I do have a dry scalp and that did not affect the application, once applied, I simply added a dime size amount of olive oil to my head for hydration. Ok guys, let me tell you, when I was peeling the backing off, and my jaw dropped that was in real time, I was literally shook!! I rocked this for 3 days and removing it was just as straightforward as the application. It is suggested to use alcohol or baby oil; I added a little baby oil to a cotton round, massaged it on my scalp and it came off with little to no effort. My skin was not irritated at all, I just rinsed my head with soap and water to remove the excess oil and that was it.

Note: It’s not recommended to apply the product near your eyes, on sensitive skin or if you are allergic to adhesives.

Final Thoughts

Let’s just say Stella found a new groove ya’ll. These are a definite keeper and I felt sexy and confident. I also know that having alopecia can be frustrating especially when trying to navigate various styling options but I would highly recommend this product as a fun alternative that doesn’t require commitment.

I love hearing from you so if you have any questions/comments don't be shy, I'm always here...
