Why hello there, I'm Christal. Thanks for stopping by. I'm the creator and chatterbox behind The Peckish Palate. My journey living with central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia "scarring alopecia" or CCCA for short has been one of trial and error to say the least. Lots of note taking, doctor's visits, food adding and subtracting and a ton of DIY home remedies as I tried to combat my symptoms. While I privately penned my journey, I realized I wasn't alone and there were others experiencing something similar. It was then that I decided to create The Peckish Palate as an open diary to those suffering with alopecia.
Just to set the stage so you understand the role of this leading lady, I was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario and learned to cook under the supervision of the great iron chef "my mom". No recipe was ever the same but each meal was always a favorite. Oh and just in case you're wondering...I eat my hamburgers in a circle, my favorite herb is thyme and I never take eggs out of the carton in order. I'd consider myself a perfectionist that is far from perfect and I'm not a morning person. I prepare foods that I love while leaving room for fried and sweet deliciousness as I don't believe in depriving myself. I've also learned to create homemade treatments that provide nourishment to my mind, body and soul that I look forward to sharing with you.
So if this something that interests you, I'd like to invite you into my world of authenticity and empowerment. Now grab your note pad and coffee (I prefer tea) and join me on my journey of all things alopecia, lifestyle and vlogs.
